In this evermore digital age and rising popularity of e-commerce, online shopping has become the norm, with consumers often buying goods from sellers on the other side of the world. Whilst this makes shopping convenient for consumers, it results in global compliance issues for the sellers.
If this sounds like your business model, French Duncan can assist you with EU VAT compliance via our amavat service line. Amavat https://amavat.eu/ is designed to assist clients who sell via online marketplaces with their VAT responsibilities across the EU, by utilising the expertise of our HLB network Firms located throughout the EU.
The service was established when Amazon first introduced “Fulfilment by Amazon”; i.e. when Amazon stores a business’s goods in an Amazon warehouse and distributes them throughout the EU, often moving the goods to warehouses in other EU member states to facilitate logistics in line with demand. This resulted in businesses being required to register for VAT in multiple EU states. As the VAT rules and rates can vary significantly between different EU States, without help sellers can find it challenging to meet the compliance requirements in each country.
Our amavat service solves this issue by utilising the VAT compliance expertise within the HLB network. Our experts assist with the VAT responsibilities that arise when selling via an online marketplace, under a competitive, fixed pricing structure, including:
All clients have a single point of contact in their home nation, regardless of the number of countries in which they are required to file returns. Clients therefore have direct, personal contact with an individual who understands their business. UK based businesses deal directly with French Duncan’s VAT experts, so please get in touch with our VAT advisory team if you’d like more information.
