Hazel began her training as a Accountant in 1992 and joined French Duncan in 2012 when they merged with Macfarlane Gray. She has specialised in tax for more than 20 years and heads up the personal tax compliance and consultancy team, managing a varied client base of businesses and private clients.
Hazel has previously served as the Scottish President of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants for two years and is currently a member of the Scottish committee.
Hazel’s specialisms include capital taxes planning, personal tax planning including residence matters, advising owner-managed businesses, tax investigations and property taxation. She has particular interest in the construction and agricultural sectors.
Hazel was brought up in a family business and has a deep understanding of the issues surrounding owner-managed firms. She draws on this background when advising on commercial and tax matters.

Andrew has been in financial services for over eight years, and has experience in various guises advising individuals and companies how to protect and make the best use of their financial assets. His clients are a mixture of business owners, wealthy families, trusts, retirees and corporate entities.
Andrew holds a range of professional qualifications including Chartered Financial Planner, Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and Pension Transfer Specialist. He is a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment and he is an affiliate member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
Andrew joined French Duncan in July 2019 and enjoys helping clients throughout Scotland. He is passionate about providing clarity and simplicity to financial planning, and a keen proponent of evidence-based investment strategies.

After qualifying as a solicitor, with four years commercial experience in practice, Gavin retrained as a Wealth Manager. Since then he has completed three years practical, hands-on experience dealing directly with a variety of clients. Throughout these two career strands, he has gained great experience enabling him to provide his clients with holistic, structured and effective financial planning solutions based on a thorough understanding of their goals, timescales and circumstances.
In addition to his general practice work, Gavin combines his legal experience with his Wealth Management training to deliver specialist advice in the area of Personal Injury and Compensation Settlements.
Gavin holds the Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, is a proud holder of a Statement of Professional Standing and is studying towards a Chartered Financial Planner qualification.

Sarah started her personal tax career at French Duncan as a tax trainee in 2010 before going on to gain her professional ATT tax qualification in 2013. During this time she balanced her training and experience within compliance and advisory for a wide variety of UK and Non-UK Domiciled individuals.
In 2014, Sarah left us to take up a Global Mobility role with a big four firm, providing residence advice for companies and their employees while ensuring their UK tax obligations were satisfied. This allowed her to gain specialised knowledge of the interaction between the UK and other tax regimes throughout the world, along with an in-depth understanding of the UK Statutory Residence Test.
Sarah re-joined French Duncan as a tax manager within our Stirling office. Her current role includes responsibility for the delivery of personal tax compliance work to a wide range of clients as well as undertaking specialist advisory projects on various UK residence issues.
Sarah strives to provide her clients with a consistent and excellent service.

Jen joined French Duncan in 2013 as a Tax Trainee and has worked her way up to Tax Senior. During her time at French Duncan she has qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant with ACCA. Jen has trained in various aspects across the practice, with her main focus now being personal tax. Most recently Jen has been accepted onto the 2018 cohort of the ACCA Leaders of Tomorrow programme.
Jen assists with the management of the personal tax compliance process for a broad range of clients including HNWI, Trusts, Sole Traders, Partnerships and Directors of Small to Medium size companies. She also undertakes a variety of advisory assignments including advising on Furnished Holiday Lets, Capital Allowances, HMRC Enquiries and voluntary disclosures, employment tax aspects, and taxation issues arising for company shareholders and Directors.
Jen takes a proactive approach in providing advice to her clients to ensure that they are both tax efficient and suitable to her clients wider circumstances.
Jen’s client portfolio covers a range of sectors, including property, agriculture and food and drink.
