Andrew joined French Duncan as IT Director in May 2016.  Prior to this he worked for Kingston Smith LLP as IT Director.

Andrew has 20 years’ experience in conceiving and delivering best in class innovative IT solutions for professional services and has documented case studies to demonstrate this.  His experience covers aspects such as IT strategy, project management, service delivery, business intelligence, data protection, cloud computing and business process management.  

Andrew has held senior positions within a number of key IT associations for IT Directors.  The associations promoted the provision, exchange and sharing of information between the IT Departments of top professional services firms.

He leads the IT function at French Duncan by staying ahead of business to business trends and deploys selected technology to streamline the business proposition.   Working with the Managing Partner, he ensures that the IT strategy is aligned to the business goals to delivers significant benefits to both staff and clients.  This includes developing key core competencies and adding innovative technology to gain market advantage.

In 2020 Andrew launched FD Intelligence, French Duncan's specialist Robot Process Automation (RPA) spin-off, which assists clients to use intelligent software often called a ‘robots’ to undertake repeatable tasks on a computer which would otherwise be performed by a human. Following an eclectic career with roles that included qualifying with a Big Four firm, being a corporate manager with a major UK bank and running a credit card sales company, Graeme joined French Duncan in 2005 to establish French Duncan Corporate Advisory ("FDCA"), the corporate finance and advisory department of French Duncan. In 2011 he also assumed the role of Managing Partner.

As one of the most recognised corporate financiers in Scotland, Graeme has built FDCA into one of the market-leading corporate finance and advisory practices in Scotland. FDCA has twice been a winner at the Scottish Accountancy Awards.

As well as corporate finance expertise, Graeme has extensive commercial and management experience, having been responsible for two business turnarounds prior to joining French Duncan, and as the Managing Partner of French Duncan, a business with nearly 200 members of staff.

Over the last 20 years Graeme has been personally involved in, or advised companies involved in, company sales, acquisitions, finance raisings, restructurings, downsizing, strategic reviews, business planning and bank renegotiations. He has worked with hundreds of businesses over the years and has an understanding of most of the issues which commonly face businesses.

Graeme has spent his career working with businesses of various sizes, advising and running activities across the full spectrum of their marketing, communication and growth.

Having gained an MA in Economics from The University of Edinburgh, Graeme joined a marketing consultancy in London working for blue-chip clients such as Unilever, Cisco, Siemens and Standard Chartered Bank, before joining the in-house communications team at Royal Dutch Shell where he led on all UK sponsorship activities.

On returning to Edinburgh, Graeme became Head of Communications & Development at the CMI (Edinburgh International Film Festival & Filmhouse) before joining The Union Advertising Agency where, as Group Account Director, he headed accounts for clients including Skyscanner, Miller Homes, Sterling Furniture, Skills Development Scotland, Scottish Enterprise and Oriam.

Following a stint as Marketing Director at technology company Clearwater Controls, Graeme joined French Duncan in January 2019. As Marketing Director, Graeme leads the marketing team and is responsible for marketing strategy and activation across all service lines and industry sectors. In addition, he works with selected clients advising them on how marketing and communications can drive their own growth.

Graeme lives in East Lothian with his young family, and sits on the Board of Directors of Grid Iron Theatre Company and Arts & Business Scotland.
