Our Guide to Redundancy

Our Guide to Redundancy & Staff Restructuring

The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme has been a huge relief for employers and employees alike, protecting around 8.4 million jobs up to May 2020.  Whilst far more generous than was ever anticipated, it cannot last forever and organisations will need to start thinking about how they will manage their outgoings without this support.

Employers will be gradually 'weaned off' the furlough scheme in the coming months.  They are being encouraged to bring employees back to work if they can from July, and will start to contribute to the scheme in August - please see our CJRS Changes - Claims Information Table (click here to download) and CJRS - Key Dates (click here to download) for further detail.

With the scheme gradually coming to an end, the economic outlook remains uncertain for many organisations.  It is therefore prudent for employers to consider their strategic plan for moving forward, and this will undoubtedly include their staffing structure as decisions will need to be made on the most efficient way to operate.

Carrying out a redundancy process can be extremely difficult for organisations as the procedure involved can be both complicated and lengthy. However, with appropriate planning the process can be made easier, avoiding risk and allowing challenging circumstances to be navigated as smoothly as possible.

With this in mind we have prepared Our Guide to Redundancy & Staff Restructuring, a way for us to help our clients start considering what their ‘new normal’ might look like in relation to their people.  We have included a summary of what employers need to know, and a 5 step process you can follow within your business.  Click here to download our guide now.
