Marc Vosilius is a Partner of Business Advisory Group and helps lead the Scottish central belt teams.
With a strong background in Corporate Finance, Marc brings with him a wealth of commercial experience working with family and owner-manged businesses across a variety of sectors, and getting involved in buy side and sell side support, business planning, financial projections, and grant applications.
Marc brings a strong balance of commerciality and knowledge combined with great people skills. He prides himself on offering a tailored approach to each individual client.
“Having grown up in family businesses and working closely with owner-managed businesses for the last decade, I understand the stresses and strains of running a business. I like to provide clients with advice and assistance to help them meet their business and personal objectives, which are two aspects that are very much intertwined when it comes owner managed businesses.
I particularly enjoy helping businesses on their growth journey whether that be towards an exit or indeed passing it on to the next generation. In the recent past, I have been heavily involved in several MBOs where I assist with the transaction and then support on an on-going basis.
I provide proactive, commercial advice to my clients as I understand that for some owners the finance side of their business is not their strength. This allows them to focus on aspects which they are good at, whether that be selling, developing new products or dealing with their team.”
“My clients expect me to provide insights to help drive their business forward and at the same time provide my honest opinion. I like to be a sounding board for clients whilst ensuring that I don’t simply tell them what they want to hear. I’m always honest with clients, I’m not simply there to tell them yes to everything. My clients like that I will challenge them at the right times, whilst utilising my broad knowledge base and technical skills to add value whenever possible.”
“The most satisfying aspect of my work is seeing the difference we can make to our clients’ business and personal lives. Particularly as someone who grew up in a family business, I understand the pressure that comes with running your own business, and knowing that we can help people manage that pressure and excel in their field helps me sleep at night.
I provide proactive, commercial advice to my clients as I understand that for some owners the finance side of their business is not their strength. This allows them to focus on aspects which they are good at, whether that be selling, developing new products, or dealing with their team.
It is natural for me to build relationships. One of the greatest compliments I have received in my career was to be asked by an MBO team if I would like to join them as part of the management team. That showed how much they greatly valued my input and saw themselves working with me for the long term.
Not only that, but I also love supporting colleagues and watching them progress. There is a great satisfaction in seeing people come out of their shells and excel at what they do.”
“I am really excited about the opportunities that will come from being part of a larger organisation. For example, the way that Lauren was supported in developing VFF makes me want to keep my eyes open for other complementary services we could offer.
In terms of AAB’s future, I look forward to future acquisitions, and seeing what the next acquisition will look like, whether that be geographic or into a new service offering.”
