“ I pride myself on producing a HIGH STANDARD OF WORK AND having a GOOD WORK ETHIC.”

Based in our Edinburgh office, Gordon Christie is an Assistant Manager within the Corporate Finance team. In his role, he supports corporate transactions including sale side advisory, finance due diligence, and buy side advisory.

In addition, Gordon is a key part of our grant funding certification services and has experience preparing financial projections. This includes reporting findings and liaising with clients on a regular basis to keep the client informed of any developments.

Gordon has experience working with businesses of various sizes including owner managed SME’s as well as large corporate entities across a range of industries and sectors. This experience gives Gordon the expertise to tailor strategy and advice based on the specific client needs.

Gordon prides himself on his attention to detail and enjoys building close relationships with clients.

Building close relationships

“An ideal relationship is where there is trust when a client feels comfortable expressing their concerns and priorities so that we can provide the best possible service. I like to work closely with clients and have a strong relationship. This allows for an open line of communication which is required during transactions working to tight deadlines.

I always strive to work with our client’s best interest at heart to provide the best possible result and deliver high standard of work and good work ethic. Additionally, when providing advice and delivering feedback to clients, it is important that we are entirely honest and reasonable.”

Client-focussed approach

“I firmly believe clients are the reason we are here. It is all about understanding our clients as individuals, understanding their needs and goals, and working with them to finding the best possible solution. I am dedicated to meeting their goals and working tirelessly and flexibly to ensure that we reach a successful outcome.

I believe my main strength lies in my great work ethic and eye for detail which is shown in the high standard of work provided to clients. I strive to provide the best possible results to clients every day. I am also an open supportive member of the team that is always happy to provide assistance and support where possible. Personally, I find great satisfaction in providing a high level of service to clients and realising the result we have achieved for our clients.”

Keeping an open mind

“The greatest challenges are the constantly changing environments in each engagement. During a transaction, there are multiple variables that can throw a spanner in the works or turn a deal on its head. Therefore, it is extremely important to remain open-minded at every turn and be relentless to provide the best possible result to the clients throughout any changing environments.”

Embracing efficiencies

“I enjoy and encourage the efficiency of virtual work and all the benefits which we have found in recent years. However, I don’t think there is a replacement for regular in person meetings and events with colleagues and clients to keep the relationships personal and enjoyable.”

 Fantastic opportunities ahead

“Joining AAB on this growth journey, I am eager to share knowledge and collaborate in a larger team and company. I am looking forward to learning from other staff and supporting a wider team of advisors and analysts.

It is a very exciting time for the firm and I am relishing the opportunities of working within a larger accounting practice as it grows. I am motivated to add to the growth of the firm and continue to expand our client base.”
