Robert started his career at a top 15 accountancy firm in Glasgow, where he worked in its tax department, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2008. This balance of training and experience combines a strong grounding in the UK tax system with an understanding of how a business operates and the commercial implications of tax.
In 2012 Robert joined a top 10 firm in Edinburgh, providing business tax advisory services, before joining French Duncan in 2014.
His current role includes advisory projects ranging from corporate restructuring, capital allowance planning, R&D/Patent Box reviews, due diligence, share schemes and international tax issues, as well as managing the corporation tax compliance process for a broad range of companies.
Robert believes in proactively managing client relationships in order to identify issues or opportunities at an early stage and achieving an optimal resolution from both a commercial and holistic tax perspective.
