IndyRef2 survey results
21 March 2017
Given the announcement of the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, on Monday of last week to seek a second independence referendum, we thought that it would be interesting to seek the views of people who work in the SME sector as to what they thought about the prospect of IndyRef2 and about independence.
We are under no illusion that this was not a scientific survey, but we thought that it would be an interesting snapshot of business’s opinion given that the vast majority of people on our database either work in SMEs or their clients/customers are SMEs. We are not experts in formulating questions nor in the collation and analysis of such data and so we do not profess that the output of this survey is accurate nor even reflective of the whole of the Scottish business community. Nonetheless, we hope you find the results interesting.
Given the speed and volume of responses we decided to terminate the survey after 24 hours. Within that period we had nearly 800 responses and it is that data that we have recorded below. If you completed the survey after 24 hours or if you tried to complete the survey after that period then we apologise but we have restricted the data to that first 24 hour period. Many thanks to everyone that took part and we hope that you will find the results to be of interest.
