French Duncan co-sponsor Diversify Glasgow event
21 January 2015
Diversify Glasgow is a core group of large and small businesses who want to develop the energy supply chain in Scotland to create greater economic activity. It is a business-led initiative but we are supported by Glasgow City Council, the Glasgow based universities, Scottish Enterprise, The Scottish Council for Development and Industry and are in discussion with the Chamber of Commerce.
We are looking for more businesses to join us to help create a city-wide group that can share ideas and collaborate to create new energy projects. We will broaden perspectives, develop new skills and expertise and “share to create”.
The formal launch of this new approach will take place on 27th January 2015 at Glasgow City Chambers where Councillor Gordon Matheson will open a half-day conference, which will demonstrate how:
- Glasgow intends to spark a new industrial revolution as it leads the way in becoming a low-carbon smart city as we move from fossil fuels to renewable energy and greater energy efficiency.
- A more collaborative and open relationship between private and public organisations can develop new projects to bring together new technologies to save cost and increase efficiency.
- Learning bodies must identify the skills and develop the people we need to take advantage of this new industry.
With inspiration from several high-profile speakers including Ross Martin, Chief Executive of SCDI, and carefully designed workshops we are developing a group that does things differently, that does things successfully.
Join us to create greater technical innovation, employment opportunities and industrial wealth for the people of Glasgow.
