Accountancy / Taxation Graduates
We pride ourself on being an ICAS accredited training firm. Graduates are recruited annually on three year, fixed term contracts in order to become qualified chartered accountants. Other avenues open to accountancy graduates include ACCA (we have obtained the Gold Accredited Employer Status) and the CTA professional taxation qualification.
Alternative Professional Studies
Insolvency is a key service line within French Duncan and, alongside other areas of the business, professional studies are encouraged via CPI and JIEB.
We employ young people directly from school and provide the opportunity to obtain professional qualifications whilst gaining practical work experience.
Accountancy trainees will embark on a five year training programme for either ICAS or ACCA.
We also provide school leavers with opportunities within the non-professional areas of the business, such as business administration. This route has been supported by Microcom Training.
Supporting Students in Career Choice
Providing work experience is a unique opportunity for students of both school leaver age as well as undergraduates to gain an insight into the profession. We work in partnership with various councils throughout Scotland to provide weekly work experience for school children.
Much success has been gained through our partnership with Glasgow University, in particular Club 21, whereby we provide internships to undergraduates before they complete their penultimate studies. This has often resulted in the offer of an ICAS Training Contract on completion of the Honours year of study.
Career Focused Training
French Duncan is fully committed to supporting all professional staff in meeting relevant Continuous Professional Development (CPD) needs. Our commitment to enhancing the skills, knowledge and experience of our staff is demonstrated through our continued Accredited Employer status with both ICAS and ACCA.
